White Park is a popular community equestrian facility located in Scone, drawing both local and regional users. The park was impacted by the proposed Scone bypass road design and presented an opportunity to improve the site.
Upper Hunter Shire Council engaged Mara to design a master plan to provide a vision for the site and guide development of the park to meet community and stakeholder needs. The adjacent rail and golf course needed to be taken into consideration through the design process. The design and associated detailed documentation were also needed helping to secure funding from other levels of government.
Mara developed a stakeholder engagement strategy, identified issues and opportunities, key stakeholders and appropriate communication tools. After conducting facilitated workshops with a diversity of user groups to generate ideas and understand the aspirations for the site. Recommendations were incorporated into the master plan and plan of management and assist Council secure funding from the NSW Government.
The first stage of this project is currently under construction.
